Hi All,

I did try to post this in the font of all wisdom but couldnt, anyway, here goes.

I fitted a remus can after my first 600 mile service and remus headers to my 08 GS after 1000 miles, ive now done 3000 miles. i didnt change the gaskets as they looked fine, i torqued all up to what was required and on starting up i could not then or now feel any wind coming from any joints etc.

The ride feels roar which i like and performance has improved, now the only problem is that occasionally when the throttle is shut and i open up i get a slight miss, form previous bikes it sort of feels like their maybe an airlock but im not sure.

Any ideas ? its not like it spoils the ride too much its just a bit annoying, from expirience is this just how the remus headers are or am i letting in air or maybe something else.

all knowledge and ribbing excepted. :)

I am lead to believe that a full Remus system without baffle makes the bike run too lean and that also the best configuration is the Remus headers and standard can. For the time it takes to remove the can have you tried the bike with the standard can to compare?
Have you syncronised the TPS? Ignition on, open throttle wide open slowly twice then switch ignition off.
Have you had the throttle bodies balanced?

headers

Hi Lee,

Thanks for the quick reply, i didnt know i had to do anything except bolt on and go, i got both the can and headers from a BWM dealer and they said nothing to me ? i assumed the electrics etc would compensate for it running lean

PHP:

No but that sounds easy enough, engine not running i presume, i will do that.

No !! should i :nenau

Syncronising TPS - does it work like that anytime? I thought you had to disconnect the battery for a short while to force a system reset and then the system expects the TPS sync process first time ignition is switched on after that?

Thats because the font of all wisdom is a "how to" section, not for asking questions. :blast

Yep :thumb2 I`ve been told about 3 secs to fully open then 3 to fully closed.

You`re right, engine not running :thumb2

It won`t do any harm to get the balance checked and at least you`ll know it runs ok. Some people were finding their bikes running lean at high revs up at the top end. I`d try it with the standard can to see how it goes, it might just be one of these things thats always been there but you`ve just noticed it and can`t help but let it bug you!

All boxer twins from july 2007 are fitted with software to stop cylinder knock which sometimes causes this flatspot after throttle roll off then back on.i will find the correct info for everybody and post it on here for. Your bike prob doesnt have an issue but more a factory induced characteristic

To reset the system you should first disconnect the battery earth for a minute or so, then reconnect before ignition on (do not start) throttle wide open then closed 3 times. Ignition off then start her up.

I tried this before riding to work today, didnt do it on my marathon commute of 5 miles :) i will take the long way home tonight and test it fully, thanks to everyone for the replies.

I had my bike serviced at RGM the other day and he reset my TPS by the method I mentioned, I watched him do it!, and you really don`t need to disconnect the battery :thumb2 I should think he knows what he`s doing :D
