Strip down time for the winter, swapping engines so I'm basically taking the whole thing apart. I'm about to get the front end off, started to undo the main bolt holding the telelever to the engine but I'm stuck!
As if sitting on the bike.....
Removed plastic caps, right hand side revealed large (17mm) standard bolt head behind large circlip. Removed circlip.
Left side revealed large allen bolt head.
Being stupid, I assumed that I simply needed to undo the two respective bolts and pull the long one out. Not so it would seem, unless I'm being particularly stupid!
The large allen head bolt didn't undo, it cracked! It has literally cracked in 3 places and is now of course a useless piece of soft metal. The normal bolt on the right seems to turn anti clockwise but doesn't seem to be undoing. It's also very stiff.
I know there are bearings holding the long bolt in place for the telelever to pivot on but I would have thought the bolt would simply pull out of these?
I;ve done a search of various sites including this one but can't see any description of this procedure anywhere.
Help!
