Have you got the KTM My Ride ?....

I haven't.

Rather than go with a 'pack' I just added heated grips and the quick shifter.

Don't need HHC, my arse doesn't get cold and I don't answer the phone! (I do occasionally listen to music, but just pair the phone to my sena and control the tracks on the big 'jog' button.

I know what you mean.

In saying that,I used both the heated seat and grips quite a bit in Germany last week as it was bloody nippy.HHC I could do without BUT it is very good.

Now that the My Ride is working fully ,it will be handy to see music tracks displayed on the screen on my solo trips where I listen to music quite a bit-for instance I'm off to Spain to meet some mates in Sept to ride the twisties of Asturias and Portugal again.They're all getting the ferry to Santander but I'll be going to St Malo so will have music on for the schlep down the autoroute to get there.

Rode my Super Enduro for years with just heated grips (shite ones) and ear plugs.No ABS no nuffink.Now look at the bloody technology !! The world has gone mad,I tell yer !!!

For me this bike is all about that B road thrashing ability not its fancy tech. The tech is good, but it's the icing on the cake as far as I'm concerned ...

I was about as close as it's possible to get without handing over money to buying a 1290S when for once in my life I looked at the bike I've got and couldn't find a good reason to trade it in. Maybe in a couple of years the discounts on a new 1290S and the fact that mine will be four years old will make me do it but not yet.

Anyway, I collected and fitted a set of used panniers for my 1190 yesterday so does that count as adding glitter or replacing bread bins? What possibly saves me is the fact that I'm more likely to use the frames to to keep my 30l soft panniers away from the bodywork and exhaust than use the hard panniers unless I want extra security.
