tell me about your V85tt ownership

An adjustable shield extender that is set mostly forward and slightly up works very well for me (5'-11"). I also have larger hand guards but no mouse ears. This is on a V85 Travel shield.

Mouse ears worked a treat for me.

I recon anyone with some talent could work up a set on the cheap.

Unfortunately………that ain’t me 😂. Both look worth a pop as relatively cheap compared to the new screen conundrum.

Yes the service from Holland was swift.

There’s plenty of advice on the v85 Facebook groups.

Always a dead friendly bunch there

I seem to recall a Polish Guy developed them for a 3d printer then open sourced his design so anyone could print them. I think if you search the files on one or more of the Facebook groups it’s still there. All you then need is access to a 3d printer.

Yes indeed I saw that too.

I’ve also seen “good bodge” ones.

Basically a disc of metal shaped rather than a blob as it were.

I think plugging that gap with whatever fits is the main thing

Is that extender with the standard low screen or the touring screen. Just thinking of things to try. Those Mickey Mouse thingies seem to be widely liked.

With standard low screen. The taller screen, for me, made buffeting much worse.

Greetings from Australia. Casting the net about for as many sources of Guzzi info as possible, this forum came up, and an early read suggested that it's not as ,ahh, combative as a few others.

I have just purchased my used V85tt , a 2023 Evocative. It's my first Guzzi and early impressions are very positive. Mine has the stock screen and at 6 foot 1 the wind just catches the top of my helmet and whistles a bit. It isn't horrendous , but I may play with a few clip on options just to see if there's a benefit. I prefer not to run a giant screen up front , I'm not a fan of the visuals , generally.

What I AM after are actual user experiences with decatting the Euro5 versions and possible fuel trim options to suit. UpMap and Rapid Bike Evo seem the main players in this space , but you can find various accounts - both positive and negative - around the web. I'll do a search of these boards to see what is out there.

All the best, and safe travels.

For many people their biggest issue with the V85TT is wind noise and or buffeting. Lots of “fixes” from ever bigger/smaller screens to little deflectors on top of the screen, to ”mickey mouse ears” fixed into the slot in the tank for the forks when on full lock.

Imho it’s not brilliant in respect of wind protection above 60 ish, but no noisier than lots of other bikes I’ve owned. Buffeting is only really a problem in cross winds on the motorway. But ride the bike where it’s at its best and at its best speeds ie back roads at 50-60 and it’s a fantastic bike.
Does the Givi screen work?

Has anyone tried 60/40 ish tyres such as MotoZ Tractionator RallyZ / GPS / Adv, TKC 70s, etc, on their V85TT? If so, what mudguards do you have? Any comments on handling &/or spacing? Many thanks

I've been running TKC70's on my mine since I purchased the bike in 2021 - 17K miles and I'll be fitting my third set in the next few thousand miles.

From personal experience I wouldn’t know. From what I read on the groups on FB as ever it’s mixed: some say fantastic; some say no better or even worse.

What did buy though was a Palmer Products screen mounting bracket. Lifts the screen a tad and moves it out and then offers multiple adjustment options. It works for me.

Yes! I have one. I will be selling it now the V85 has been traded against a V100 Stelvio
I only used it once, it does look like a "barn door" but it was super effective. On a 330 mile ride from Dorset to Cumbria in rain and sleet, snow settled on the side of the road. I had heated gloves, heated grips etc. The Givi Airflow kept the worst of the weather off my torso and was super effective at keeping me sheltered.
It is huge tho, and IMO does not help the looks and style of the V85TT. It was super-effective on that winter journey tho
Whatever the RRP is you can have it for 50% if you want it
Collect from FK10 2EG
I also have a OEM "Touring" screen I would like to find a new home for if anyone wants...same deal, 50% of RRP
As it's you JB I can probably get it to Ikkje at some point :)

That's interesting, never heard of them before bit looks like decent quality and innovative👍👍 my GDO came with tinted touring screen and I fitted a cheap clip on extension, seems to work for me or I would be looking at this solution....I bought a Givi bar mount already but its a good option here as well.

That looks an excellent product. Not quite sure what the baffle option actually is, but the toolless adjuster option seems a good one. Being able to adjust the angle of the screen offers a fair bit more flexibility to find the right setting.

I would take you up on it, if only I had a bike to mount it in
Thanks for the offer
Toying with a test ride to see how good the v85 is

The best screen I came across for the V85 was just the lower half of the Givi Airflow. I also thought it looked very good. Someone who had messed about and chopped the upper part of the screen gave it to me. I had cause to go out one day with just the lower half fitted and thought, aye aye, that's quite good is that. I had it on my next 3 V85's.
