Ten Years

I've just noticed that I joined this place in March 2004.

I may not post as often as I once did but there's very seldom a day passes when I don't log in. Too late to tell me to get a life but then again, I'm not alone in that

Grizzly, Den, Andy T, Coolcarbon and Schtum are the only guys from the Scotland section that are still alive and kicking from my join date. GC joined just after me.

On the general forum Whatton, Steptoe, Fanum are three names that were regular posters when I were a lad.

You had a very big influence on a lot of people at many different levels here. It is because of you and the likes of you ... OONYACK, GC, Miko O, The Celt, Watton, Steptoe, Jockser, Mzokk, Grizz, PaulG and so many others ... apologies if I have forgotten with the passage of time that we all became strangely connected. This connection began as a virtual/digital thing but then became something more, for sure. You organised so many amazing GSer events which drew the likes of myself and many others from our computers to Scotland and further afield to enjoy the 'Craic and banter' as they call it in NI, of fellow GSers.

You and UK GKser produced a kind of camaraderie which is unique and everlasting regardless of ones physical location and we are all a kind of 'United Diaspora' these days for sure. This is regardless of our many troubles in life which seem to increase with advancing years but anyway Ronno I wish you the best ever 10 year anniversary celebration today.

Nice one Ronno. I've been here about 11 yrs BUT 10 years ago this very day I met my better half Louise on a blind date set up by some mutual friends. I was due to fly to the US on a 3mth bike trip 4 days later so I thought if she turns out to be a munter I have the perfect excuse not to call her for a second date.

We got on so well she flew out to meet me for the last week of my trip . She'd never been on a bike before but she became my riding buddy too and we've been together ever since....Phoebe joined the party 6yrs later .

Time sure does fly once you get past 30
