I like my old airheads but have been looking for something
else to try as a adventure tourer :augie
I wanted something that was
Reliable...decent tank size...Looked like it would take a bit of abuse and would cover the rough stuff quicker than my GSPD but still be good on the road

A Tall order

This came along for a good price so i thought i would give it a go :D

First run out today :thumb2
Seems to tick a few of the right boxes
I find it quick enough on the road and surprisingly smooth
for a single
You have to work the gearbox a fair bit more than the old airhead though :augie
The brakes are a load better :augie

Miss the cylinders when you can't get the stand down :blast
But not in deep ruts :augie

Not the lightest of bikes..But it felt remarkabley agile off road despite the crap road biased tyres
With something a bit more agressive i recon it will be fine
for what i want it for

All in all quite pleased with the bike...But time will tell :augie

Nice bike!

Probably the best thing Yamaha have brought out in recent years IMHO.

More pics please. :)

I've got a soft spot for the Tenere love the look of the new one :thumb2

I owned one back in the 80's had so much fun on that bike :clap

Me in Spain had two months off work and toured round Europe with my best mate :thumb2
