All excited test ride at 2pm ish at Jeffries.

Its going to have to be good to make me part with my 30 Year Anniversary GS.
Hilltopped with a full Akra System, but you never know. Luggage is a bummer as they want mine back fully dressed and struggling wrangling anything back.

Swinging by Craigs KTM dealers on the way up at Dewsbury so maybe a curve ball thrown in when i have a bounce on the 1190.

Oh well keep you informed.

1190 lost identity.

A couple of friends and I looked at both KTM and BMW bikes yesterday, we all had the same opinion, the BMW is absolutely spot on, however the KTM Adv looks are a big let down. They have lost that Adventure bike look they had with the previous bike and now it looks too similar to a lot of the Japanese adv bikes. Definitely a backwards step on the looks front, from KTM.

An update on my test ride.

Firstly Craig's ktm shop was a disappointment.
Nobody came out to speak to me even after pouring over the New model for quite some time. So that was the end of that.

The BMW test ride was better than expected. The suspension and low down acceleration was what stood out the most. Handling was good mainly down to the road biased tyres i thought.
Don't know if it was me but it seemed hesitant in dynamic mode at high revs. Perhaps it's just because it only had a thousand miles on it.

Am I Having one. You bet I am :D

King,
How long you had your 30 and what miles have you got on the beast now ?

Ktm have completely lost the plot with the new bike, it just looks like an elevated road bike with a small fairing, looks nothing like the old one. The only thing going for it, my local dealer, has 3 sat in the showroom, that I'm sure they'd do a deal on, if they could find anyone interested.

The new GS, haven't ridden it, but it looks really nice and sounds great and a white TE is on my wish list.

Agree, the old 990 whilst as ugly as sin has a real presence about it....really surprised KTM I'd not continue with the KTM look...a missed opportunity and whilst not as bland as the Versys....it is getting too close. A shame as it undoubtedly will be a great bike....let's see what the R version delivers.
