TFT updates

Had my 21 R1250GS in for service on Monday and requested a TFT software update in the hope of resolving the occasional disconnect, plus the low volume mono when using the phone. Allan Jefferies, Baildon were happy to do the update during my service. I have three nearer BMW Motorrad dealers but prefer to travel the 70 odd miles to them.
I had version 022-007-020 and was expecting 022-008-020 but got 023-011-060.
It’s too early to tell if it’s resolved the issues but it definitely starts up faster.

My first year service they refused to do mine and said I would have to bring it back another time as they neared at least 3 hours. As it was about a 60 mile round trip I didn’t bother.
Why can’t they do updates over the internet when you are parked up like a lot of cars?

Mine was in from 09.45 to 15.15, quite a while but they did do the shaft thing as well, replaced with a new one at 7700miles.

I’ve read stuff you’ve written before about this but you and others that ‘know’ about this leaves me thinking I’m a right numpty because I don’t know what you’re on about with ICOM’s, 70Amp power supplies, latest versions, updates and sites, which is best and where to get them from. I do know the ICOM is the BMW diagnostic tool but that looks expensive and there’s loads of dodgy Chinese copies about, could sell my GS911 WiFi to go towards it.
It’s like you’re talking in a secret language to me. A PM with an ISTA+ for numpties explanation would be good

You don't need a 70 amp power supply, 30 amp max will do.

You will need a much higher amp power supply for cars
