Hi all,

went out last night with a few mates... Didn't do any huge mileage but just hooned about on the coast roads.

Now, as we left, it started to mizzle, which turned into rain.

Given that it hadn't rained for a while, the roads would be a little greasy  .

Any way, there I am going through the corners, everything feels great, wind it on a little, yup, still feels fine :clap .

We stop a few miles down the road and my two mates (on a Pan and VFR) both mention they had little slides and were shocked at how quick I was through the bendy bits!

So, I know the GS is well planted and I did have the preload up a little (forgot to wind it off after some touring) but to outride a Pan and VFR :D

Just a little note to say something nice about the bike :nenau :bow :nenau

Totally agree with you there. I can honestly say the GS is the best bike for wet weather riding I have ever had (And I've had a lot). Barely need to slow down when the road are wet and the tyres (Anakees) have proved faultless in road holding.
Compared to my last bike (TL1000s!!) it's a dream in the wet, solo or 2-up.

Best allround bike !!

As a previous owner of 2 Pans (1100 and 1300 suicide machine) and 3 VFR's............... they wont live with you in the wet.
I sold my 1300 Pan and my VFR last year because the 1200 does everything the Pan does (without a weave) everything the VFR does (up to 120mph) and I can ride it off road..................1200GS the best all round bike on the planet.wet or dry :D /

NAte,

Which tyres are you on?

I found that tourances are quite good in the wet and dont slip much until they really let go.

Current Dunlops are slippy when wet (still miles easier than the RSV though!)

As another former VFR owner, I'd agree too. Quite surprising how good the GS feels in the wet.

BTW, I have just changed from Dunlop D607s to Tourances. Both excellent. I did 12k miles on the Dunlops and they were superb in all conditions.

Tourances seem good so far, but I've not even done 200 miles on them (most in the wet so far).
