It will be hard to think of these as freebies when you go over the invoices you've paid.

But you can't take it with you, and the bike is going to look great. :okay

Well I figure they have to make a living and raise their kids as well. Stein Dinse have been brilliant I must say.

Anyway, another short fix for you. I suppose I could have just put up the “dismantle” photos in reverse order.

Let’s get this lot back together.

Hoping to have some stuff ready tomorrow,
New guides are fitted to the heads,(they were a bugger to fit, or should I say remove)
The reamer arrived so guides are sized to the valves.
Just got to regrind 1 x ex seat and lap the rest of the valves ( hopefully)

Cheers Mike, sounds like you’re making progress!

Good old postie dropped these in this morning - I’ve been waiting for them. Now I can get on and rebuild the carbs.

Just curious but what's the smaller 'large' o ring for? I'm assuming the larger one is for a float bowl but that other one's got me stumped.

Andres

Stop screw O ring, mixture screw O ring, choke jet O ring, float bowl seal and .. a spare according to the parts diag. .
I think, I took them apart about 6 weeks ago so can’t quite remember!

I’m sure I’ll find a place for everything, but these kits cover a range of carb applications so the smaller large one might be for a manifold joint, looks about the right size.

You might want to check the float needle for damage,

They can get damaged being stored like that

Cheers Santa, that’ll be replaced. I had a nice run up to Mikes today via Custom Fit Guards in Leamington to get some new ear protection. I’ll need that when the visa bill lands.

Had a play with the Wunderlinq on the way and managed to take a selfie. That’s a first, and, maybe a last.

Mike let me take a bit home. Now you can’t tell me that isn’t art eh? did a fantastic job fixing the fins.

How are you getting on with the wonderlinq, i was playing with the phablet today,

i've reversed the ram ball, and moved it across so i can still fit & use the VI if needs be, & checked it with the new screen and all appears to fit, but i wont know untill the screen braces arrive

What mobile solution are you using it with ios or droid?

Hi Santa - it's on IoS. I think day to day for me it's probably not a massive step forward cos I mainly use Waze and that's not integrated. But on tour it will be dead handy, that's when I'm running Kurviger routes on Scenic, which is integrated.

Anyway, back to business, I ordered up the shocks from Mike Capon's Shock Factory today.

And after a chat with Mikeyboy and Nigel Billingsley (basically the St Eptoe of Guzzi world, along with Baldrick) I'm back to scoping out a full electronic ignition system that does away with the distributor completely. Hey, it's only money.

(Shuffles off, crying ...)

Praise to mr mistacat for fin repairs,
Nowt to do with me apart from delivery driver:thumb2

Right a couple of hours spare in a sweltering workshop, time to clean out the sump. It looks clean already doesn’t it? But there’s half a teaspoon of blasting media stuck in there.

Once that’s all done we refit the bits

IMG_2800.JPG

And stick a new filter in, remembering to scribe the date on it. I don’t know what the mileage currently is but let’s call it “zero”.

IMG_2801.JPG

Then we get this

IMG_2803.JPG

Onto that

With these

There ya go. This pleases me.
