The announcement, West Cork, Durrus and Beara....

:blast I didn't mean to suggest that I want to ride like rossi or lead the group! just that i've been on rideouts before using drop off and you can get stuck behind someone going at a snail's pace and you don't want to pass in case it's seen as offensive or something like that. But as long as it's clear that we can ride at our own pace and stick to marking a junction if instructed by leader that's great.

Hi David,
absolutely no offense was taken and I know what you mean. I have done a few rideouts when I used to live on the continent and had no problem either passing or being passed.

We are all out for having fun, and if someone is riding slower to enjoy the scenery I don't think anyone would be upset by being passed. Certainly if I had been asked to stop at a junction and ended up being at the back, but wanted to press on, I would do so. HTH

Cheers,

Richie

BTW I have booked the bar. There are three bars in the village, the one doing the food is fairly big by village standards, so after food I will be visiting the other two, nothing like sharing the money around in a small village...

I had been looking forward to my first bike weekend away so quite bummed about that though. Thanks again to Richie for putting the effort in to organise it.
