The bearing issue?

This is the relevant picture.
Now the race is not fully driven home but the bearing will look the same even when you simply place the race on it.

Bearing is not the problem methinks, What bearing are you showing us ?? A BMW original ? Is the bearing casing out of the headstock ???

Anyway, Have you checked the steering clearance ??

A lot of people try changing fork set up from KTM into Beemers and it needs a Yoke set up that is about 2 inches lead rather than the way you have it

Thanks for replying. Yes, the turn radius is tight! The tapered bearing is a Custom one from Italy the race is stock BMW, same set up as the top but this sits perfectly. I'll dismantle the front end and post some new photos. Thanks again 👍

How does that work? The cup has to marry to the cone.
