I’ve been looking at these for a while now, gathering as much information as I can. I’ve been through all the Nav5/6 units and the connect cradle. I haven’t tried the connected app yet.
I now use my iPhone pro max and a WunderLINQ, it works well but even with a newish iPhone I struggle to read it in bright sunlight.
So what I need is a system that utilises the wonder wheel, can be clearly read in bright sunlight, can run OSMand for off road use and scenic app for road. Not interested in cameras. Must be robust. I know the connect app doesn’t do off road so I suppose that one is ruled out.

Hi cannot comment on the Chigee other than it appears to be expensive compared to a discounted Carpuride, I have Carpuride since the came on the market, now with the 702 BS on a 1300, have an iPhone and Sena SRL. Use a combination of MRA for route planning and application, Google maps for day to day journeys, listen to live radio or my own file of music on my phone.
Yes it has Wonderwheel application but I rarely use it as touch screen is quicker. There are numerous things on U tube on how to set it up but the best option Phone to unit as CarPlay, Sena (comms) to phone, that assures seamless connection and better audio. As said earlier have Sena Comms and use the Sena RC4 remote control for volume control, bar mounted.
If you make the Carpuride choice, do not buy from anywhere but Carpuride direct, email their customer service and ask random Questions to show interest fairly certain the will answer as well as a discount code if you decide to order. Good luck

There is also the R7M ? That looks very well made. And with a 1200nit screen

I've got both Carpuride W702BS and Chigee AIO-6 and both are excellent. If I could only have one it would probably be the Chigee because it has buttons as well and touch-sensitive and not all my gloves are that good with touch-screens! That said, the extra inch on the Carpuride makes a difference.

I emailed carpuride today and asked about having all the bike data available on the screen as my bike doesn’t have tft. This was their reply

Dear customer,

Yes, without a TFT screen, it may not be possible to display complete and accurate motorcycle information.

Sincerely,
Carpuride Team

Watched a few YouTube videos now with people fitting these units to non tft bikes and it seems they do display bike info, well enough info for my needs. Just a decision now as there seems to be a new CarPlay BMW wheel working system out every other day.

Just a resurrection :)

I have a pre TFT bike and when i attach my Nav6 it shows all the bike details so the information is there, you just need something to display it. such as the BMW NAV or one of these Chinese devices.

I have the Chigee and the wonderwheel kind of works but not well enough for me so I use my hand. I had some serious issues with the Chigee / phone connection with the phone simply overheating and shutting down thereby losing the connection. Never had that with my Nav6. So I am not 100% convinced by the Chigee and phone set up….

I have the Carpuride W702BS Pro, its still in the box 😁
also the NAV6 which is on the bike.

I need to install and set up the Carpuride and go out for a test run, checking comms, phone and following a GPX file/route.
Would be nice to use MRA directly on the bike too.

Im putting a new battery on the bike this weekend, think i will do it then.
I can report back my findings.

Whilst the weather has been extraordinarily hot, iPhones are very sensitive to heat, shutting down as a safety measure.

Putting a phone in a tank bag or top box (akin to an airless oven) may well only serve to exacerbate the problem. My own phone was overheating in the pocket of my shorts, whilst walking around or whilst riding my bicycle, when the pocket in question was on the side facing the sun.

Then mix in the heat generated by a phone permanently on charge, to compound the problem.

It’s the weakness of the ‘Must have’ phone mirroring devices, that is difficult to overcome unless you somehow have the phone out in the airstream, mounted up near the clocks.

Inside pocket in a vented jacket is probably the best place for it if your not charging.

In the new setup i have the phone will be inside a powered top box, will have to see how that gets on heat wise.

I will be taking all the quad lock stuff on the bars as i cant use them now.
Will put in the garage as they may work with the next phone i buy.... or not if i buy another fold phone.

My Garmin never has heating issues lol

I run my phone on a quad lock mount on the handlebar that I can turn charging on/off via the quad lock switch under my left thigh. I run a Carpuride 702BS Pro. Quite handy having the apps in front of you.

I would however, love, a dedicated GPS unit as a backup.

I have just bought a RiderNav and mounted my Iphone on the centre of my flexxbars, in Italy and France and temperature hit 40 and no issues, my mates Samsung did over heat even in his tank bag. I like it there as when I turn the ignition off the and the CarPlay goes off the phone screen then shows me the map until CarPlay takes over.

Always a good bet. I always have my Nav 6 loaded up with all routes as a back up. In case disaster strikes and my 2 week trip then has no direction. I know many just follow their noses but if you have it all planned and your Nav goes down then having a back up could save the day👍👍

I've no experience of the stand alone screens but the new Carpuride Plus looks interesting as it is not just a mirroring device but runs Android 14 with its own GPS so that you can run navigation apps on the device and not your phone. Seems the best of both worlds. I run an Africa Twin with the 6.5 Inch TFT and run MRA or OSMand+ on Android Auto. I keep my phone and a small 20,000 Mah Power bank in my pocket (no I haven't gone on fire....yet) with a wireless dongle connecting the phone to the screen. It works well. I still have my XT mounted and use it as a backup and for proximity alerted POI's

Does that Carpuride Plus hook into the BMW craddle or does it have it's own mounting hardware? Sounds like the Carpe Iter..

Hi I think only the 702 BS fits strait into the BMW Nav prep, I have had both models since launched the BS for two years if set up correctly can’t fault it
