The past couple of days my Dalmation bitch has been showing great interest in our utility room. I assumed she had detected a wee mouse taking cover from all the rain but when I came home fromwork today I found some boxes on the floor that are kept in an old shower cubicle. After locking a very unhappy dog in the house I investigated and found this little chap :D

He appears to be quiet young and not all afraid. I gave him some cat food and milk that soon disappeared :comfort After drawing blanks with phone calls to various organisations I remembered our local character who keeps all sorts of animals. Those of you who listen to Gerry Anderson on Radio Ulster will know who I mean ;) Off I went to his house and he said he would take it. Back home again to catch him and then back to his new home :thumb

BTW I still managed to have HWMBO's dinner ready on time :aidan

Albino polecat ...

... and quite likely to be captive bred and therefore used to handling; but I'd use big gloves anyway :augie

Most definitely an escapee. Unlike the UK, Polecat is not a native species in Ireland - the only members of that family that are native are Stoat and Pine Marten (and Badger and Otter).

Someone has lost one....

So what was it then?...A ferret?

He looked very cute, Mandy, couldnt you have kept him?.....:)

I would hold on to him...might come in usefull for chucking under the duvet if the Big Fella should decide to lie in...:aidan

Yeah a ferret. I think my dog would have made sort work of him if he'd stayed any longer
