The Irish Tosser's Navigation Rally, The First Date in '08, Cashel, Co Tipperary.

This is going to be good, hope to get as many of the off-road ones as I can. :bounce1:bounce1

What's another year?

Planning to participate, in the year & the event.

Hope 2008 is good to you all. :beerjug:

Lookin' forward to this :thumb2

Unlike some bastids, who shall remain nameless but live in the PRC & ride 1100's with rear pizza boxes :augie, I've only managed one days 'proper' bikin' over the hols :( (I've been out with the kids on their bike & the Serow but that's just me being a good Dad :rob;)) so I'm dying to get out for a decent run.

I'm planning on meeting Daithi & ShortArse in Mother Hubbards between nine & quarter past if anyone wants to join us for a New Years Brekkie & a wee natter :jibber

So thats between 10 and 11:30 in Mother Hubbards? :augie Cool see you there!

Can't wait for this. Just one quick question - if Im only using the map (no GPS) - how do I prove Ive been to a point? Probably irrelavent anyway as I will be sticking with "himself".

I think we'll be handed a sheet with the 'questions' & we'll fill in the answers as get to the points. So if each of ya did half the points & then shared your answers you'd both get a perfect score :D But then that's not very sporting, is it ;)

Me, I'm just out for the spin & the craic :bounce1:bounce1

using map only too Orla, not sure but i think you need to answear a question to prove you where there, :nenau

so if one knew the area well you could cheat :thumb;):clap

If you're staying with himself you'll be fine but having both the maps and the GPS
will be betterand a lot easier than only one or the other.

Egsaklee. :thumb2

The ideal arrangement is to go out in pairs, ie: one could open a gate and the
other can close it, or one could write down the answers while the other is routing
to the next check point, saves time.

UPDATED GARMIN WAYPOINT FILE

Sorry for the delay in getting this posted but it's slow copying and pasting.:o

Attached is the up-to-date GPS Waypoint file for tomorrow. :thumb2

The ROAD checkpoints are RED flags and OFF-ROAD checkpoints are GREEN flags.

If you get an oppurtunity to load this file yourself all the better, it'll save time tomorrow.
With the weather being a tad damp it's unlikely anyone will get them all done, enjoying
it safely is probably the most important thing. :thumb2

Really looking forward to this. :bounce1 :bounce1 :bounce1

AND HAPPY NEW YEAR TOSSERS ! :hogroast

I'm not :( Firstly, I'll be concentrating on staying nicotin free and secondly, I'm not doing any of the off-road ones for which points will presumably be higher, thereby handing an immediate advantage to the Langer Brothers & those suntanned people from North Kildare :augie Besides, I'll feel like a winner just getting a day out on the bike :D

Many thanks to all involved in the organisation of a great new years day outing and a great start to the 2008 biking season.:thumb

The amount of money raised for nomination to the charity of my choice was €407.70. Thanks must go to everyone present who donated this generous amount. :clap:clap:clap

The charity I nominate and will donate the money to, is the Irish C.F Association

Cheers everyone
John D
