The Next Best Bike in The World Ever......Thread :-)

You're lucky, Andres. My 1190 weaved terribly starting at 90 when fully laden with panniers/topbox. By 105 it was looking to kill me....really frightening. Made worse by a guy passing me on the autobahn on his toilet doing about 125. :blush Maybe the 1190R is more stable with the 21" front wheel.

Easily solved - on the 1290 you just roll it on to 140 and enjoy the scenery

Must be the panniers. Never had any high speed stability issues on my 1190S that only had soft bags.

Pic of mine as of yesterday morning.

Roll on tomorrow!! :thumb

I'm not impressed with the site brown parcel tape!
Another ratchet tie-down would have better.
Rusty brown transport frame too!
Bike looks the business though!

The race for first owner is ON !!!!!

Ha ha,no contest !!!!

SPL will win the race for the first S as his bike is being collected tomorrow !!
Nutty will win the race for first R,as both our bikes are on hold in Austria and mine has to make an additional ferry journey once it arrives in UK.

I win - my S was delivered this morning!!! :aidan

Spent my lunch break (lunch is for wimps anyhow) fitting a few odds and sods before I head off up North tomorrow.

In case anyone cares, I can confirm that the Akra from a 2016 Super Adventure goes straight on to a 2017 no bother (even though the part numbers are different).

Really looking forward to putting in a few hundred miles in the saddle tomorrow :D

I'm looking forward to hearing your views tomorrow evening.:thumb

Yes me too,few pics would be good also !

Been to see one today really like the look of it, it tick all my boxes other than a chain but could live with that.
We asked the dealer what would be the residual in two years time with 25k on.? £5700.!! ???
Are they really that bad at depreciating.? going to ride it but may have to settle on another XR if they ever sort it out.
If not back to the old trusty Waterbus

£5700? I'd say he was pulling your chain.;)

You'd like to think so but he showed me the figures on a pcp which we never do as the bikes are always bought outright.
We had the same thing with Ducati and their Multi not interested in high mileage bikes .! 25k.?
Going to ride and see, it wont be this year anyway as my GS is not 9 months old

I guess they set the final pop figures low then. I've not bothered to look (as I couldn't care less), but I'd be surprised to see a 2015 1190R available second hand for £5700. And that's an old model now.

MtS didn't say you could buy one for £5700, that's what the dealer would give you :blast

No, the dealer said that what the residual is, wise ass.:pullface

Either way, it's all a load of bollocks, and won't put me off getting mine. Sorry.:D

Thats what the GFV would be but they said theres usually a bit more available.I dont buy on PCP anyway
but we change every two years due to mileage and as owning a BMW out of warranty these days seems suicidal.! plus extended warranty doesn't cover suspension from 30k
Really liked the Katoom but will see how others get on first, had an XR for 3 months did loads to it but could get away from the firm suspension and other silly niggles mainly the shit lights.
I look foreward to riding the 1290S
