The next East Anglia day out

Hi peeps.I'd like to meet up with you guys at thetford if I may, I'm a newbie on these bashes so I'll be the one in the corner who looks like he doesn't know anyone. http://www.ukgser.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif

Welcome aboard, and don't worry about not knowing anyone. I had not met any of the Tossers before the last run out, and now they are all happy to lend me money or their wives at the drop of a hat. Decent bunch really. :augie

Sorry, I can't make this ride now. The weather looks good too:thumb2

That is a shame, mate. Is there anyone else who is happy to lead from Boreham to Wally's at Acton? Otherwise there will be a bunch of sad tossers milling about at Boreham all day.:blast

All are welcome. Yes, Boreham services are the ones to the northeast of Chelmsford. You should not be able to miss the bunch of shifty chaps lurking there. And as for being a fat twat, you will fit in nicely. :augie

ta i had allready noticed that most tossers are no strangers to the odd pie or three if i can find all the nuts and bolts i will hopefully see you 0800 sunday morning:D

I planned going up the A134,A1065,B1105- I defer to you superior local knowledge.

Much better GS route is Watton, Dereham, the Snorings, Walsingham, Wells.

But we can make a decision in the morning. :thumb

Don't wory about fording, I doubt that I will attempt any as I am now on road tyres. :D

I have a worrying case of man-flu enveloping me at the moment. I am overdosing on the lemsip but it is not looking good for tomorrow. Not sure if I caught it from Mav and Chad yesterday evening, or if I had spent too many hours in a cold garage.

I have attached my proposed route from Wally's to Thetford. If people prefer the idea of heading along the main roads then fair enough, but this will give everyone a bit more of a ride on some slightly quieter roads. I would suggest that a few folk download this for reference.

Also, as it looks like I will not be there to mother you all, please remember the timings for the Essex bunch so as not to let the Thetford mob get too fat on double brekkie:

8:30 at the latest, leave Boreham
9:30 get to Wally's
10:00 head over to Thetford, to arrive 10:45 to 11:00

For the Thetford chaps, I guess you want to be there by about 10:00 to allow a right good feed before joined by the invaders.

Then off to Wells for even more food.

Matt :fiddle

I do still want to come along, but I hate letting people down at the last minute and thought I would make sure there is a contingency. Wally's Shed is at:

Unit 1, Acton Place, Melford Rd, Acton, Sudbury, Suffolk CO10 0BB

Basically take the turning on the right to Acton from the A134 Long Melford bypass and it is the second road on the right into the industrial estate. Just follow the stream of bikes! I am still hoping to be there, even if I only go on as far as Thetford.

Cheers,

Matt

You’ll recognise me ok ...fat bloke on a GS …couldn’t be easier:thumb

I released the moustache back into the wild …it was last seen making itself at home in my neighbours bush

weathers looking good for Sunday:thumb2

I don't want to know what you were doing with your moustache in your neighbour's bush ...what's she like then ...pics ?? :D

Me and my wife will meet up with you all in Thetford if that's ok? We are new to BMW's and this site so come over and say hello cos we are both shy types!:mmmm We will be on an 02 1150 GS.:thumb2

You will be made to feel most welcome. If I can shake off this cold I will be there with my other half. I will be easy to spot as I will be on a V-Strom for tomorrow. Don't rely on people telling you to look out for them because they are "the fat bloke on the GS" cos that is most of them. :augie

Oh yes, and a real name may help too unless you want me to say hello Udders and Mrs Udders? ;)

Cheers,

Matt

Looks good to me - I will put that route into my tw@t nav also.

Well, children. After all the mothering and fuss I am going to have to give this a miss. As usual, my man-flu has kicked in and I am constantly using my inhaler just to keep me breathing. I will be back up and running in a couple of days, but it would be too uncomfortable to ride tomorrow.

:(

Anyway, for all the Essex guys: I think you are sorted getting to Wally's (address given earlier) and I am hoping someone has picked up the Garmin route I popped up earlier to get you to the right place in Thetford? You need to head for the Forest Retail Park McDonalds, off the A11 at the "Cambridge end of town". After that Mr Engineer will seamlessly adopt you and take you for your lunch.

I am really sorry about this, folks. I promise to organise and lead the next one, wherever folk fancy next. I was really looking forward to this too.

Have a nice time. :thumb
