Do not............I repeat, DO NOT use the orange key to try and start the bike.

When you're rushing to get to work and can't find your key at 6 in the morning. When you realise that the spare is still in Amanda's purse (from our recent holiday) and that she's at work...........

However flustered, however tired you are just DO NOT try and use the orange key to start the bike.

First job when I get home is to RTFM and work out how to reprogramme the lost keys/immobiliser

This has been a public service broadcast brought to you by a complete twat.

Andres

PS And yes I know it says in the flipping manual NOT TO USE THE ORANGE KEY :rob

uh-oh, sorry to hear that. let us know what happens / how you get on...

enlighten me please! (I'll have mine in 8 horus time)

You'll get a spare (black) key and an orange key.

The orange key is for reprogramming new keys or unprogramming a possible lost key.

IT IS NOT TO BE USED TO TRY AND START THE BIKE! If you do this it will wipe the existing keys codes from the immobiliser's memory and render the bike immobilised :D

Enjoy the new bike :beerjug:

Did you reach for the trusty Tomos? It would give you plenty of time to contemplate just how idiotic you've been is you thrum along the road at 29mph.

Sorry to hear of your woes Andres. Always, always, always put the bike key in the same pocket of your riding kit. Always. Did I mention always put the bike key in the same pocket of your riding kit.

Have you thought about going 'keyless'.........................I hear BMW do a good version:comfort

Nutty swears by it, as do a lot of other folk here:augie

Blimey ... I never knew! I think I even took the orange key with me on our recent holiday! Thanks for the heads up...!
