The price of your dream.

Tim thanks for posting this
first time out on my bike for 8 weeks
felt a bit weird but a good ride out
i read this and was shocked about the truck rolling
i accepted this was the point of your thread
then it hit me like a ton of bricks
I've not read a thread like that and it knocked me for six
just wasn't expecting it
it won't stop me though
in my head thats how i wanna go :thumb

Yes, pretty sobering stuff. There's a whisker between having a lairy hoon, having a wild adventure that you remember for the rest of your life, making yer heart race .... and it all going wrong.

Very sad ...

That was a total gutwrencher:mad: The pictures of his repaired bike facing the sea at the end was very symbolic and poignant.

Tragic!!!!!!!! But each of us that go 2 wheel adventuring has to balance the risk /reward and make your peace with it. Its the only way to make sense of the obvious risks.

Very sad and a gut wrench for his brother to post the news.

Just finished reading it 4 hours after clicking on your link. I followed this thread when it was 'live' then stopped after it went quiet before they arrived in Nigeria.

Gutted the way it ended, and the strength of character of his friends to keep and restore the bike brought tears in me eyes at times.
thanks Tim.:thumb2

Been reading this all night on and off and then suddenly whallop I got THAT lump in the throat.

What a sad ending to a very good ride report.

Just finished reading end to end.

A tragic and moving tale.

Thanks Tim for highlihgting it.

Just read the whole thread, and very glad I did.
Whilst it is tragic and very sad it was also very inspirational, posted by a guy that I'm sure many would aspire to emulate.
He would definitely be on my list of people to ask for dinner.

Steve

he sounded like a great guy who enjoyed life... sad end to a great RR

You never know when it's going to happen so gotta get it done before it's too late.

Plus one for Sgt Bilco. Ya just never know what's around the next bend, literally and metaphorically!

Amazing, sad, yet inspirational story of a life well lived and sadly cut short.

We should all get on with our short lifes:beerjug:
