I have a couple of days annual leave to use up, so was thinking I may head down to the New Forrest, so do any of you have any tips for good back roads off the beaten track, nice camp sites, at, or very near to a decent pub, and apart from sammy Millers, anything good to see, that a Photographer (me) would find interesting.:thumb2

You could try the route from Dibden Purlieu to Beaulieu to Lyndhurst for some photographic scenery (and pubs).
A ride through Brockenhurst maybe?
The Red Shoot at Linwood is a nice pub and there is the Red Shoot campsite nearby.

Plenty pubs in the New Forest. :thumb2

Hollands Wood campsite is well situated, good facilities and walking distance from a decent pub that does nice food.

I spent a couple of nights there a month ago and once a few years back and it's still as nice as it was some years ago.

I was down there on Saturday. Biking nirvana.:thumb Just stay off the main roads, and explore the back roads and lanes and youll have a great time.:beerjug: Plenty of good pubs in that neck of the woods as well.:thumb

nice though they are, most of the forest roads are 40mph :(

Red Shoot is not the greatest pub (all character has been removed), but they do have nice beer and the campsite is next door.

Well the Red Shoot is not going to get my custom! £17 for the tent, and £5 for the bike, off peak. they is having a giraffe:eek:
