After looking on and off for over a year, today I bought a Schuberth R1 from Infinity. I went there wanting to try on the Nolan N43 air class, but my chin rubbed against the chin bar, and NO, I don't do Bruce Forsyth impersonations!

Then I tried a Nolan flip up, and a Caberg one. The Caberg drop down visor hit my nose, the Nolan wasn't a good fit.
My eyes then saw a few Schuberth at sale prices, I tried the R1 and it felt comfortable straight away, added bonus was the drop down visor, which neither hit my nose or my glasses.

Ventilation is good as well, very quiet, big visor so visibility is good. Only downside at the moment is that it seems a bit draughty by my chin.

But what has to be remembered here is that the helmet I have been wearing is a Roof 010 diversion. This is a close fit to my chin, consequently not so airy, the R1 is quieter, visibility is better, hopefully the top vents are not as ridiculously fragile as those on the Roof.(what a pun :D)

I'm pleased for £220, allegedly:augie £150 off as it was last years colours. big deal, it's a bit power ranger looking IMO, there again is taste my forte? The Roof is bright orange.

I have a C2 which has a velco adjustable chin curtain. I don't know if the R1 has one or whether you can get one. It is meant to help reduce noise, but it might prevent the draft around the chin.

I've got an S1, which is pretty similar to the R1.

Lovely, comfy and quiet helmet - I should wear it more often I guess!

IIRC, it think it came with a chin curtain too, I had to remove mine as it felt a bit too tight.

In case it wasnt in the box, you can also get S1/R1 visor shaped Pinlock inserts too.

Cheers
