I may be behind the times but there is not been a GS since about 1996 that you could call attractive. They'll sell shedloads, despite the hideousness.
Doesn’t seem to have affected sales though.

It’s so heavy I’d fear more for the road it’s fallen on!so how much damage happens when it is dropped ?
i dropped my 1150 more than once ( twice on an autobahn ) all that needed to be changed where the rocker covers.
I should have said ‘Boxer GS’ but, yes, the 900 is OK mostly because it looks like a KTM/Husqvarna.I think the 900 is

This is the main problem they now have. Not that it may appeal, but you could buy a VStrom1000, kit it out to top spec, and still have plenty of change for a sports bike or a DL800, for the price of a specc'd up GS1300adv. I just can't see them selling these by the bucket load. The 1200 and 1250 were arguably affordable (just) but the new one seems to have come in way higher than most people would contemplate spending on any adv bike, at least to a useable, attractive spec (not the the word "attractive" is implied here in any wayWay 2 much dosh !

Yes, clearly those with lots of disposable income will make their own choices and good for them if it floats their boat. I guess the point is that BMW have gone past now what most ordinary blokes on the street could just about justify. This might have included an outright purchase, or monthly payment thresholds of outgoing 1250 GSA. The new 1300 looks distinctly poor VFM against the relative "value" of say the new Trumpet Explorer, the cheap and pretty decent Vstrom, the Africa Twin or KTM. It may or may not set new standards in some areas, but for mere mortals and not riding gods any of the afore mentioned will get admiring looks at Starbucks or be capable of continent crushing abilities on and off road to the extent of what most use them for (fire trails and the odd off road sortie).Pcp.....
It's got moobs; bingo wings and a muffin top ;It’s got moobs.

A bike thats never been ridden,
