It's all gone quiet over there

Hi y'all,
Just come back from then US where I went along to Daytona during 'Bike Week' and visited the local BM dealer there. Picked up a brochure and found that they give a 3yr warranty on the BM bikes over there. If BM is a Global company, why the difference compared to the 2 provided in Europe?
You can fcuk off as wellIt's fun to read a bit of argy-bargy on the forum now and again.
... US Warranties are usually limited mileage. I don't believe the Euro ones have the same limitation.

Has anyone else read through the contract yet?
I've come across two things that dont seem to make much sense given that this is a GS/A
first one is on Page 16 point 6 This BMW Motorrad Insured Warranty will not cover an insured motorcycle used for ..... off road use.
doesnt make much sense if these are bikes "designed" for offroad use...
second one is Page 25 Exclusions relating to Continental European Cover "the cost of replacement parts"
Maybe I've misunderstood this bit, but does a breakdown in Europe only cover recovery, replacement bike and labour?
I didn't take the third year cover because of the high cost.
Now the cost has come down, does anyone know if I can buy additional warranty now?
How long have you missed?
If it's not too long AND you have kept up your BuMW services (as the policy probably / possibly demands) - you MAY be in luck.....
.....but do I recall some valiant private spanner action and concerns over global warming from a possibly over warm final drive?
PS What's happened to page four?
I haven't seen the policy but would GUESS that it excludes the foreign parts, simply because the bike would be bought back to the UK and the broken parts replaced here (assuming they are covered). This saves BuMW (or the insurer) sending money back and forth across Europe, so making the premium cheaper.
The same MIGHT occur under the manufacturers' initial two year warranty. I haven't looked.

I broke down in Santander a couple of weeks ago - the bike was misfiring and the fault traced to the lambda sensor from what I could understand.
I was picked up and taken to the main BMW dealer at no cost but once they found the fault then it was made clear that I needed to pay for the part and the labour to fit it - 266 euros. The extended warranty puchased in the UK was not valid in Spain and I assumed that it also applied to the rest of Europe.
I rang the emergency number who confirmed that this was correct and that I needed to submit the bill to my dealer who should claim back from BMW as if they had done the repair and then reimburse me.
The bike was fixed and back on the road within a couple of hours.
Oh!
I feel a bit ripped off!
My fault, I did not read the small print. I was under the impression that the Beemer extended warranty was similar to the original one, you know, turn up at a Euro dealer with bust bike, they welcome you with open arms with no problems...............a bit too good to be true? one of the reasons I got the extednded warranty was I ride in Europe alot...
