Can anybody help me just got new bike and think its brilliant but for one issue. When on cruise control its smooth but when I'm at a constant speed any mode ie rain road etc I can feel it surge faster and slower I can feel it. What do you think it is? I think it could be the throttle as its fine on cruise.

Known problem, cures are Hilltop remap, AFXieD Lambda offset devices or Wideband Lambda controller with an offset narrowband lambda output or a Power Commander with an appropriate map.

neither my 2013 or 2015 LC had/have a problem with surging, so it is not a general problem - can you describe this 'surging' in more detail?

Are you sure it's not the engine revving higher to allow for a incline in the road................ ?

2014 model.......... Only surges/rev's when it needs to................ So far.

When on cruise control it fine so no problems there.......when trying to keep a constant speed I can feel a slight motion like and increase or decrease in speed only slightly but its there. At first I thought it might be me so put it in rain mode and it still does it. I get round it by using cruise when I can lol...help

One thing I have noticed sometimes, is that on a constant throttle at lowish rpm is a cyclical resonance in engine tone with cadence of second or two BUT the bike doesn't change speed or surge. If the bike is noticeably changing speed by a few mph on a constant throttle then I would say that there is something wrong and it's time for the dealer to test ride it under the same conditions to try to repeat the effect.

Yeap, my 2014 does this around 4-5000rpm, also a friends 2013 has same issue, apparently a Hilltop remap will sort it but at a cost of £350!! not seen this confirmed though!
I am thinking about it but need to decide if I want to keep something that costs in excess of 15 grand but needs further money thrown at it to make it run right and a decent seat fitted as the oe seat is rubbish!

Why are they not sorting it at warranty? im same as you dont expect a bike with 8000 mile to be a problem im hoping somebody as sorted it without a remap?

It doesnt increase by even a mile and hour but I feel something :(

Hmmmmm weird, does it happen at all speeds? If the speed doesn't even change by 1mph it isn't really surging is it? You need to go back to you dealer and get them to repeat the problem.

Its does not do it when on cruise control...........help

any point using injector cleaner like redex

No that is not the answer
I believe ( but could be wrong) the ECU and electrickery is set to optimise fuel usage and emmissions and there is an ammount of Injector Idle ( at least I think that is what it is called) where the injectors reduce or stop completely putting fuel in albeit for a fraction of a second.
If something is out of kilter you will feel the effect as surging.

I would give Geoff at Hilltop a ring he can explain it better and I am sure he will as he is more than happy to speak with anyone who can be bothered to ring him up with questions

Hope I am not a bit premature in saying it as been resolved....Contacted Southport Motorad and the girl I spoke to there told me all the updates and recalls have been done and to try 97 octane fuel and whatever I do dont use redex lol. The tank was nearly empty so filled up and went on an 80 mile run it felt brilliant no surging and smooth. I will report back when its had a good motorway blast but I am confident its fine. Just to thank Redrick and Engineer in particular for being so helpful and everybody who took the time to respond

I run mine on 97 & 99 octane it's an improvement but doesn't stop it altogether!
