I don't need one but if I did, would bmw have to slacken off both stop screws to correctly tension and balance the cables? I'm on a 99 850r with one of those y junction crossover cables. Or do they leave them well alone?:nenau?? If anyone can definativly answer that one for me it would be a big big help. I've good reason to ask.

Thankyou enabb.

Some suggest that if you adjust the stop screw lock nuts, the bike needs to be sent back to bmw factory to be reset. god knows why but i know its ment to a royal pain in the posterier to reset properly on MY bike!

Others suggest that you can do this and more, adjust the air recirulation brass screws for example. And do a zero zero, mickey about with the tps and basically throw your sense out the window. (I stopped short of adjusting or touching the left stop screw and lock nut.)

Gonna print that linky tomorrow. Thanks again.

to fit new cables or adjust cables
when fitting cables you must fined the slack of both cables match ie when you turn throttle both cables move at same time
if one moves before other ever by few mill the bike wobbles it head off:blast
because one carb is moving off stop
if cables r fine but the carbs need balacing you mush check with digi carb reader that both move at same time and distance.2nd measure co levels and adjust via brass air screws.
it can take from 5mins to fit new cables to 2hours or so if you have none digi gauges :blast
hope this help its easy to do than type it
i am bike tech not writer so so rry for brokern english lit:eek

ps dont adjust tps sensor there dont need ad:robjusting

Thanks dude. The tps is linked to the stop screw and brass screws. Trouble is, I've adjusted everything except the left stop screw and lock nut. Didn't wanna do the full zero zero. As if that makes a difference:blast

Digimeter eh? :rob

Co2 reading:augie

Valves:aidan

I think I just made a santa list and would kindly like to swap my potential beastie for a young r80/r100.

Just reread this again. Thanks. That's the info I'm looking for. So is the linky from previous post. Very interesting indeed. Do you know anything about using a TFI unit to smooth out the fuel delivery?
