If you use a "throttle rocker" for long boring motorway journeys, and its cold so you have the heated grips on, be very careful when you remove said throttle rocker. I was a bit ham fisted removing mine back in April and left a slight cut in the grip, only a couple of mm long, but down to the twistgrip tube :o. It was pointed out to me at service that my heated grip wasn't working (haven't needed them since!) and that the cut was the cause, I had severed the element. Just fitted the replacement (£60 for the complete unit), which took nearly an hour, so I suspect the charge from a dealer would be around the £100 mark :eek.
Be gentle with those grips folks!
