I just putting in a positive thread for Adrian and all the crew at Kearys in Cork.I went up there this morning to get new tyres put on and sort out a problem with an indicator switch(which I was'nt charged for)I also got an excellent deal on the Rallye 2 gear and plenty of coffee and chat while I was waiting.Credit where its due things have changed for the better and long may it continue.:thumb2

couldn't agree more.. had my final drive oil seal go the other day..

straight in and out.. no hassle..

Thuimbs up for Kearys

Must be talking about Careys tool hire as it could not possibly be Kearys BMW.
To sum it up
1. One sales man who doesn't ride a bike and the other a poser.
2. A 'supposed to be' parts manager could not order parts even when he is given the part numbers and cannot ride a bike.
3 Two mechanics who are ex car mechanics with little or no interest in bikes?????

Unfazed or Disgruntled ?

I disagree with most of what you said, but I think you tipped your hand with the Parts Number remark, you've another username on here.:green gri

EDIT:BTW, the two mechanics DO ride bikes.

Nice looking tidy shop, service area is flat out busy but the technicians still had time to talk. The sales staff are polite. The salesman i am dealing with is none of the above.
Customers differ i know what i want and know what i am getting, i dont expect a dealer to hold my hand.

What a load of S**T! How convenient that was your first post?? Stop hiding behind a username...if you have something to say then you shouldnt be afraid to say it and sign your name to it.

I rang Kearys last Wednesday and asked to book my bike in as the fuel gauge stopped working. The bike is still under warranty. They said they could do it the following day. I dropped it in first thing Thursday morning and got a call before lunch to say it was ready to go. Not only was the fuel gauge fixed but the brake lines had been replaced as per the recall. I dont think I could have received better service anywhere else. Credit where it is due :thumb2

I agree its not right to make character attacks about people without adding some substance and specifics.
And what is wrong with trained car mechanics working on bikes?

To put you in the picture,

I ordered Yamaha parts last November, gave the part numbers and my phone number, went back a week later to see if they had arrived as I had not received a phone call. Half the parts had arrived but Parts guy said he had mislaid my number. No problem with that, (can happen to anybody) remainder due in the following week. This went on until Christmas. Gave up and rang Danfay, had parts in 3 days.
My son took a test ride and when he returned the Poser was on the phone discussing a night out. He waited 15 minutes and eventually gave up. He went back the following day only to be offered €3000 against €8000 bike. He advertised it on DoneDeal and sold it after 3 days for €4000 to dealer and bought privately saving himself a load of money.
I went with a friend for a test ride about some time ago and when we returned the sales guys did not even ask how we got on or were willing to discuss the bikes with us.
Being the sucker I am, I ordered Gaskets and Oil seals in May. Guy in parts never got back to me and after 2 weeks I called in and waited 10 minutes for parts guy to finish off his non Kearys related phone call to be be told that there was a delay in Danfays and he did not know when they would have them. Rang Danfays had parts in 5 days later.
Nothing wrong with car mechanics see question marks "asking a question"???.
Maybe it was because I was not looking at a BMW or Buying BMW parts, but they are a Main Yamaha dealer also.
I am a BMW and Yamaha owner and do my own maintenance hence the need for ordering parts.
Will deal with Tyner or Lee in future
Daithi ould stock I do not have another username on this site, why would I go to the touble and Silvermint wake up and smell the coffee, recalls and warranty work are paid for by the Manufacturer and have to be done.
One positive note, great tea and coffee. :type

Well for starters you should get your facts right....the mechanic that repaired my bike is a qualified bike mechanic and has NEVER worked in a car garage of any description!! Not that I'd have a problem with it if he was.

Secondly its totally irrelevant whos is paying for the repairs for the bike. I just made the point that I had a problem that they resolved quickly and with no fuss and deserve a bit of positive feedback.

If you have a problem with Kearys then by all means air it here. Thats what the forum is for but I do think personal insults are a step too far. Also I think it is highly coincidental that it was your first post here. If it is its is...just making the point. :nenau

Is that you Bryan?

WHAT!! So, are you telling me there is a difference between a dealer trade in price and selling the bike privately on Donedeal. Wow, what a shocker.

This news just in 'Sometimes if a dealer doesn't want the trade in for various reasons (condition/current stock/resale potential etc etc), he may make a low bid against it'

And what's that, it was actually worth less than you thought it was.

Incedible. Who'da thunk it...

Any more revelations?

Kearys

I have had very positive words to say about KEARY’S. (COULD NOT SAY THE SAME ABOUT BMW reliability) In fact, only for the service I received I would not have purchased another BM. Even their pricing is starting to drop into the real world (rear TOURANCE 130 Euro).Adrian is very good, bought the bike from ‘the new Mark’ no bother. WOULD PREFER IF JIMMY WAS STILL IN THE WORKSHOP!!!!!!!!!

I ordered a clutch cable over the phone, following day, they phoned me to say it was in. Called in to collect and pay for it, but the parts guy was on his day off, so someone who I presume was a salesman found the cable, worked out how to work the invoice system and sorted me out all with a smile and positive attitude. No complaints here anyway.:aidan

Great Job by the people at Kearys organising the open day last Saturday.
Bikes, food laid on and Mattie Griffin stunting with the 800R the guy was sensational.
Loads of demo rides for us too.
Really a good bikers day out + a night in the Cork
I know this kind of event takes a lot of time and expense to set up so a big thanks from us.
