A wee suggestion regarding the showing of the tracker updates, we are all interested to see how they are getting on, so perhaps a section could be set up where only subscribers could see the maps?

Obviously Paul would need to keep an eye out for new subscribers with the email address [email protected] :D

Exactly.

We have booked Roger and others in here to our Hotel in Benidorm to join us this evening. As you say, a day resting my knee will help a lot.:)

I think in Benidorm we might just be able to find a decent pub or two.:)

Sid, go to Vincents Pub. If it still exists they have a cracking lunchtime sesh, great music and party atmosphere. :beerjug::thumb

Just looked at some live webcams for Barcelona, which Thunder will be passing today and it's a clear sunny day :)

now now Kev :nono Basque separatist's might be watching please don't be giving any route information :D

Whats happening to him/bike now?? Is it the "Same" starting issue?

Has a new motronic unit being sent out to him as we speak. I'm pretty certain he's mobile with Steptoes workaround but the MU will perhaps give him another option to try.

I know he did quite a bit of pre-trip bike prep, including taking the ABS and Servo off so all this is rather bad luck for him at such an early stage of the trip.

All part of the adventure though, he has a pretty strong resolve and won't be easily put off. :thumb2

I've a feeling in my water that they are all together now, except for sockpuppet..
I reckon a lot of :jager:jager:beer::beer: will be taking place tonight :augie:augie

If it's the same as when i looked at the bike, it's no signal to the injectors, or spark at the plugs. But only when starting from cold

Turns over and over and over, fuel pump runs ok, and then will suddenly start.

Changed hall sensor, but still appears to be doing it. No fault codes showing.

Motronic unit is the only thing left that i could think of which controls both injector and plug signals. And doesn't show fault codes. Unfortunately i didn't have a twin spark unit spare he could fit ( i had one here on a customers bike, which we swopped over to trest but sods law the bike started, and then the engine got warm).

Hi all. IN Madrid now. One of the wettest days riding today. 400 miles of solid rain!

But, I do get to go to Granda tommorrow which will see me meet the others :D

Thanks for the help earlier :)

2nd Hand Mototronic unit from Motorworks winging its way to me. A relative bargain at 200 notes.

The work around it to kill the ignition and start again which seems to work, however I'd like to get it sorted as I don't want the work around to stop working 30 miles into the African bush!

All those hours in the garage prepping. Bah! Though parts have started to fall off thunders bike so I don't feel that bad.

Thanks for the help steptoe. I'd never have guessed at the mototronic. That may not be the problem but spoke to guy at woolastons today and he agreed that maybe try another hall sensor then mototronic.

Should have the part on Friday all being well.

Greetings from a secret underground bunker somewhere in Benidorm.

All the little soldiers have arrived save fro Private Sockpuppet and who hopefully will meet up with us later today.

Communications have been difficult for the last few days because of limited internet access and batteries in phones cameras and other electrical equipment dieing in the cold. Private Bhud and myself lost our Ipods just North of Milhau and had to ride without our toons. :blast

Quick summary of the trip down so far, Uk was relatively clear on the motorways but pretty cold. Service stations where a nightmare with compacted snow and ice but Bhud, Nakambale and myself had no real issues until we hit a blizzard on the M20 heading for Folkestone and rode 20 miles in a white out with the bikes snaking down the road.

Euro tunnel was running and we made it to France as planned on Sunday morning and met up with Andres to head down to our overnight stop south of Paris. French roads again clear, temperature was dropping but we warmed up after a dash through the centre of Paris lead by ex dispàtch rider Andres. Apparently we passed the Arc de Triumph :augie

Rather than getting warmer the temperatures kept dropping the further south we went as we headed for the Millau Bridge on Tuesday it was 5 degrees below, cold but mnanageable until we hit freezing fog when they dropped to minus 10 and ice formed on gear, visors and my case glasses.

Had to pull to the side of the road with Mikey and Gert behind me with hazard lights on while I dug out my contact lenses and stuck them in while cars and trucks loomed out of the mist 6 inches from the bikes.

Slow start to the day but we crossed the bridge in the afternoon and headed down to spend the night in Perpignan in a positively balmy 3 degrees.

Crossed the border into Spain, snow behind us and a decent run down here to meet John and Sid, heading off for a days site seeing in a secret location named after a UK regional television station.
