We fitted ...

Jaq, My wife has the lowered 650 twin and we have issues with the levers. Pazzo's fitted but still a bit of a stretch. What has been done to modify yours ?

Also the rear brake pedal has a long travel for her small feet. Wind the biting point up too much and they eventually overheat and lock the back wheel so I'd be interested to know what mod you have there.

... the adjustable levers from Nippy Normans, along with the adjustable gear lever; can't remember doing anything to the rear brake

The clutch/brake variolevers are adjustable for both reach and length, and made a huge difference, mainly in confidence and less hand fatigue.

Gives you an idea of the equipment levels you can get on 650GS's. The best value was a F650GS touring with all the kit. I would of had one myself

May be able to retrofit the lowering linkages etc.

Well, the test ride was today and I was very presently surprised at how much fun I had, the GS was real fun round the corners and was very well balanced. It took a little while to get use to the riding position as it was such a change for me.
Getting back on my bike there was a moment of doubt as I have so much fun on the SV however, I know if I want to tour I need a more comfortable machine and the GS ticks all the boxes for me. So the SV is on the market and I have my eye on a 2008 GS I hope to pick it up next weekend.

However, I did have to get memory foam put into the seat, to make it bearable for longer than 1 hour... it's OK for six hours now (just about!)

Totally agree, I have the lower seat on this model. Its great for about 100 miles then I start to fidget.

My first mod was to powercoat the engine bars, next is a memory foam seat
