So, I bit the buillet and brought a Autcom 300 Duo.. had some fun and games on the install but tech support helped no end. Im now at this stage...

Installed BGNS and stuff into my new Arai Tour x (had to done as its a GS:D) the pockets on the arai are perfect for the spekaers and my big ears

Garmin 2610 volume works great.. set to 6.. hear it clear as bell at 80+mph

Vox works, can hear myself in my ears fine at any speed

BUT

as soon as I go over 40mph, vox cuts in and music vol drops by 50%.. (as its supposed too)... but obviusly this is not what its supposed to do.

Ipod music is loud enough stationary at max volume with limiter off, new 80gb classic (not sure if they have another firmware limiter built in or only on the older models) but mine is ok, not mega loud but ok

I cant really tell if volume is increasing with speed but a tap on the BGNS says it connected ok when parked up and swicthed on.

Ive tried hard and soft settings on the box... but no joy, better, but still vox is permently on until I slow down and it trips back off..I can hear the backgorund nosie, then silence as it trips off, music comes back loud and hey presto.

Any ideas ?, user error ?, twidle more knobs or open it up and adjust a pot or two ??

cheers

PS - I do love it though, great to hear GPS and be able to chat.

I would say its your Tour X, wind getting up under the open chin section, hitting the mic and activating the vox... You could try testing it by covering the gap under your chin with your hand to see if it cures it.

You may also need to check your vox settings on the unit itself - start at about half way then adjust in small increments accordingly.

Try an Oxford Huff type of thing, or an little foam cover bit over the mic - Autocom sell them.

Have fun,

Mike

Cheers Mike, Ive tried the hand under the lid and even putting my finger over the mic to see if it helps, tried thevox form Hard to soft, even at lowest reacting setting wind still triggers it.. I cant be the only person with a Tour x that hasnt got it working ??

might try the mike cover thingy if I get no easy answers tonight Ill call support again. I just didnt want to waste there time if it was an easy fix..

my units an older model - but if i didnt have a mic cover mine would behave exactly as you descibe.
hope that helps. :nenau

Hmmm, is the mic positioned behind the chin vents..?

Also, Im not sure how if or how it affects it, but are you using the riders lead; not the pillions? I understand that a BGNS has to be connected to the riders.

It does work really, really well once you got it all sorted!

Have fun,

Mike

You will need to run our open face conversion kit Part 1198 £2 due the shape or style of the Tour X, we always fit them here and never had any problems with the Super Pro's yet......well not as I know of any way lol

Also make sure you are connecting into the riders lead (the longer lead of the two) as if you plug your headset into the pillions lead the BGNS becomes as microphone btw

and here I was thinking Ill call tech support.......

A product is worth what the company will do to support it.

And so far, Autocom are Number 1 in my book. Thanks Rich, that's superb !

No worries at all mate, we would of told you about the 1198's over the phone and it could of been me who you would of spoken to lol
