Perhaps around three o'clock we were free of the b*st*din motorway and the 'lightweights':ymca :D called it a day, I considered joining them but the cool air as we rode through the woods gave me a second wind.
I would need it, we were only half way through the ride....a puncture, rain and load of great trails meant we didn't finish until 8 o'clock.

A great day Timpo..honest.:thumb

But I'm not feckin going back to the motorway for at least another 7 years:spitfire

I missed todays ride from Llangollen with Hew:o but later went over the Wayfareres on the Berg with Tina for pub lunch, watched an Enduro and caught up with some other lads for a fast blast back over the mountain tracks.
I'm just about wrecked zzzzzz

Its such a shame I couldn't make yesterday.:D :D :D
That doesn't look like any fun at all, bog snorkelling with a bike? :D
Glad you've got it out of your system though, 'cos I don't want to be doing any of that when I do get a free weekend with you lot!
Oh, and Timpo, I passed Kelsall Hill at least four times today on my various errands, I live just down the road. Wish I had known you were there.
Mark

I have been in poor condition myself today, but managed to help out with the DRZ at Kelsall Hill Horse Trial.
And you think others come up with excuses ;)

Had a blast today with Eddie. Not much in the way of bogs (thank god) but lots of loverly climbs (and descents!). The very relaxed pace suited the weather and my ageing bones. Top day out !!!

Sundays ride

There are some great photos there of the Saturday ride. Can't match that for the Sunday ride as the official photographer was having a lie in.:D
Here's a count up to make sure that every one has cleared one of the first lanes

Yes Both bikes are there:D

Then later in the ride we stopped for a breather after coming down the "pheasant steps".

I'm well knackered now after having a great weekend. Two new front wheel bearings to fit then ready for the next session:eek:

Edgey have a little moment:blast

Actually that isnt me although it is my bike:augie

A kind soul helped my bike up the hill when my talent/skill/fitness (delete as aproppriate) ran out;)

I did have to bail out 4pm as i had to be at work today.

Great fun, particularly when we got through the motorway only to hear "we have to go back the way ahead is blocked". At this point a potential Mutiny began to simmer:thedummy but was quelled when it turned out we didnt have to go back through the motorway:clap

Thanks Timpo cant think of a better way to spend a Saturday

I had a fantastic day on Saturday boys. Amazing how time heals...Upon reflection, loved the test. At the time, Timpo's a c**t :D

Great bunch of blokes, all in it for the laugh and for each other when it got just a tad tricky!!

You won't be surprised to learn, I've been somewhat achey today!!

I've done all sorts in my life and will literally have a go at anything but as Rick alluded to earlier, that motorway is really one of the hardest and most physically demanding things I have ever tried.

Still, a truly great day, thanks Timpo for leading us :clap and all the guys for a great laugh and for mucking in when needed :thumb and here's to the next one; hopefully soon.

Gareth

Thanks to Timpo for a great day's riding. :thumb2 Really enjoyed it despite the hardships, going over the bars in to a bog, nearly filliping the bike up the steep grassy hill & coming close to headbutting a wall later in the day. Total damage = snapped clutch lever.

Felt a bit sick & had a bad headache at the end of Saturday after getting changed, probably not drunk enough fluids despite emptying my Camelbak? Back home @ midnight & felt fine after 11 hours solid sleep. Joints are aching a little still but nothing too bad.

Bike's all clean, just waiting for the air filter to dry before re-oiling it, only took about 3 hours......

I'd do it all over again although I'd have to think hard about the Motorway.. Good company, great riding & some excellent memories.

:bow :bow :bow :bow
respect to you all.:thumb2
great photo's.

Looks like a good day out great pics and write up :thumb

PS Timpo needs to get his back shaved :augie

Thats me! Little Lynchy:D , gracefully laying your bike down after realising my legs are too short. Only trouble was falling hard on to pointy rock on with my butt. Pain not to dissimilar to being hit with a large ball pain hammer! The pins and needles where still in my leg 40 mis later and I was finding it harder to kick my XR into life, so I thought it best to miss out the motorway an go home :rob

Thanks again Timpo for a great day out :clap :clap
