Oh yee of little faith Mr Farmer, I've changed the mud guard to an original since the thread started, and here'e the proof..

After a weekend of spirited riding I can confirm that the TKC70's are the mutt's nut's. Stable under hard braking (as hard as it can be on a GS!) No weave at 85mph and smooth and sticky through the bends.
