Today I have mainly been working on my R1150GS.
Took the gearbox off to check the grease on the splines, barely any left. Glad I did that as I need to replace the clutch and the clutch pipe. Plate down to rivets, metal bits cracking and bad heat marks.Still 130,000kms isn't too bad. The splines in the plate are like sharp teeth but the shaft still looks servicable. What I think are the date codes on the clutch parts tie in with the age of the bike. The pipe gearbox end is badly rusted and the rubber sleeve that was covering it was full of rusty water
And I got me some of that flash Krytox grease to put on the new splines.
Now I have to find somewhere reasonable to buy the new clutch from
. That will most likely not be here in NZ.

) but couldn't get the last bolt out of the BMW plastic cover thingy so ended up with a tray of oil, a rocker cover that wouldn;t come off and some swearing in front of my 7 year old son! Oh well, a job for another day ...
