Today my 1150GSA was in Motorrad Central (East), Dalkeith, for its 18,000 mile service (that's 12,500 miles since July :thumb).

They lent me a G650 X-Moto to have a play on (no - I mean . . To get home on).

Not really my type of bike but an interesting experience nevertheless. I'm afraid I didn't attempt to 'back it into corners' anywhere :augie

Very 'minimalistic' and quite a high seat. OK for me, but I'm 6'2".

Quick steering with that small front wheel and no-where to hang any luggage.

There is nothing in front of you - but the instruments and idiot lights are adequate. The neutral light doesn't always come on though.

Rebound damping is adjustable on the right-hand fork top.

Compression damping is adjusted on the left-hand fork top.

I didn't put many miles on it (around 80) as I had work to do at home (and I rode the G650 X-Country when the 1150 got its 12,000 mile service).

As per the other 'G-series' bikes, it has a 9-litre tank under the seat. MPG is around 75 if its not caned.

As Abraham Lincoln once said . . "Those that like this sort of thing will find this the sort of thing they like" (but he was commenting on a Stage Production).

Unfortunately he never got to ride BMWs in all their varied forms - and I am grateful that I can :thumb.

Thanks to MCE for the loan :clap

Nice to see you took it off road :)

Bet that seat would get to you quickly..

They all do that (650's that is) :blast
mine can be a right cow to get into neutral if i'm stationary. Its getting better now tho :D

I do like that bike and would have one in an instant, if i had the money :thedummy

looks nice...I was hoping to get a play on it when I get my GSA in for a service.....last seen doing a wheelie up Dalkeith High Street.....:D

Thats the one i had when mine was in for service, very weird to begin with but after an hour i started to enjoy it, would nt buy it mind you:mmmm

Errrrm . . Actually, I just wheeled it into the garden behind the garage . . Sorry :augie

Yes, the seat is a bit narrow, but as the range is about 120 miles between fuel stops that might not be such a problem.

Actually raised an eye brow and exclaimed "Aye Rite!", when I read that you didnt try to back it into corners!! :augie

I had one on the BMW Offroad course. Only 5'8" and found it hard work getting on/off. My arse was sore after 2 days "jumping" on so that the shock compressed and I could get a foot on the ground. Was terrific riding the rough stuff though. And so much easier to pick up and turn than a GS12.

And this pic (hopefully) shows me about to take a dive when I let the bugger stall going over the edge of the downhill test and, not being able to get a foot down - kissed the dirt.

That's an "X-Challenge" . . . And they are VERY TALL :blast .

I had a job getting on one at the Scottish Motorcycle Show.

I found the "X-Country" and "X-Moto" to be slightly lower.

Looks like you were having a lot of fun there (and its someone else's bike :thumb).
