Today my 1150GSA was in Motorrad Central (East), Dalkeith, for its 18,000 mile service (that's 12,500 miles since July
).
They lent me a G650 X-Moto to have a play on (no - I mean . . To get home on).
Not really my type of bike but an interesting experience nevertheless. I'm afraid I didn't attempt to 'back it into corners' anywhere
Very 'minimalistic' and quite a high seat. OK for me, but I'm 6'2".
Quick steering with that small front wheel and no-where to hang any luggage.
There is nothing in front of you - but the instruments and idiot lights are adequate. The neutral light doesn't always come on though.
Rebound damping is adjustable on the right-hand fork top.
Compression damping is adjusted on the left-hand fork top.
I didn't put many miles on it (around 80) as I had work to do at home (and I rode the G650 X-Country when the 1150 got its 12,000 mile service).
As per the other 'G-series' bikes, it has a 9-litre tank under the seat. MPG is around 75 if its not caned.
As Abraham Lincoln once said . . "Those that like this sort of thing will find this the sort of thing they like" (but he was commenting on a Stage Production).
Unfortunately he never got to ride BMWs in all their varied forms - and I am grateful that I can
.
Thanks to MCE for the loan
