I met Grizzly at Blairgowrie this morning and we had a run up to Glenshee before cutting over by Glen Isla and having a run around some great wee B class and unclassified roads among the Angus Glens.
Grizzly knew of this magnificent stately home which has been allowed to fall into terrible disrepair. A real shame. In it's former glory it must have been quite something...
The place is quite literally falling apart
The views from the ruin across towards Glenshee
We then headed over and did the loop around Glen Prosen.
Sometimes progress was slower than at other times...
It's a lovely part of the country and one that is seldom heard about when people list great biking roads and areas in Scotland. There's even a wee ford...
We stopped off at Kirriemuir for a coffee and found out that the town was busier than usual as it was hosting a Bon Scott Memorial weekend. Apparently loads to Irish folk were over.
I'm going to have an Angus Glens run at the Clans weekend as an alternative for those who don't fancy the longer run. I now just need to find a volunteer who knows the area to lead it...
We had bit of everything weather wise but it was a great wee run and one that I'll definately be doing again soon.
Thanks to Grizzly for his "local knowledge" and the company
