Not best day to collect new machine. 4 centigrade and wet slimy roads and plenty of mud!

However, delighted with bike. The brown colour everyone complained about is more of a metallic black with a brown tint. I like it and the tank panels and rad guards are silvery gold which along with black engine looks really handsome IMHO!
Engine is smoother and seems faster than my '15 TE. Revs very freely and pulls well.
Gearbox is much better. Much quieter crunch into first and manual changes smooth. GSAP not much different but they take a while to 'run in'.

Best bit, and main reason to change, is hill stop assist. Works on up and down gradients and you can select neutral and release clutch, then put into gear and with slightly increased revs pull away smooth and easy. I stopped in a lay-bye which sloped quite steeply and was able to stop and fiddle without struggling to hold bike on brakes. Fabulous!

One problem - mine has lowered suspension but bike seems higher than previous. Need to work on the settings...

I thgought i read somewhere about the Exclusive having height adjustable suspension

I may have dreamt it

Congrats on the new bike

Yes! You can set it at Min, Max or Auto. Max I can barely touch the ground(ducks disease). Min is higher than Auto - strange. Auto seems to work well, though initially on my first ride the damping seemed weak but improved after 10 or so miles(this on undulating and bumpy rural roads)

That looks a nice bike. I would have liked the hill stop assist on mine if it was available then. Enjoy the bike......:beerjug:

It'll be available on a next/updated 1200GSA and all new 1200 GS

Short update afer 250mls.

GSAP has improved, smoother now though not all the time.

Suspension has settled a bit or I have got used to it. Not entirely happy with self levelling/auto setting. Seems underdamped and bike wallows a bit on undulating roads. You can set this to dynamic at the expense of comfort. A compromise too far perhaps though no doubt others would not notice.

Engine smoother and quicker - a delight to ride and is less lurchy at slower/traffic speeds.

As mentioned before, hill hold is fantastic!

Seen one yesterday at the Irish Bike Show......the colour is fantastic, as you say it's closer to metallic black than it is to brown. Fantastic looking machine, best of luck with it.
