went into Curries today Chelmsford high street, they told me "Tom Tom rider has been widthdrawn due to cradle mount issues, a new unit will be in stock soon"
lets wait and see

Mine Too :spitfire

I have returned from a 4 hour ride today. And now my Tomtom Rider will not connect to the cradle, because the connectors on the cradle have worn out due to vibration.

I have emailed Tomtom

Ok thats enough of this messing about with Tomtom... Ive asked for a Directors contact details to sort this out. Im also getting in contact with a couple of well known mags which I have a friend who is the Editor to see if he will do an feature on this issue.

Am i right in thinking, that, the TT Rider would be ok if fitted to the bike with either a Tourertech mount or ram mount? does this sort the problem?

I think both of these use the TomTom cradle, just bolted to the mount hardware. Not sure if RAM have made a powered cradle of their own yet although rumour has it they could be designing a new one for TomTom.

Onahi, i am about to send mine back for repair...and when it comes back, it will be "clamped" into the tonkatech cradle which i have to say, is one over engineered piece of brilliance, cos that thing doesnt allow a micron of movement...

so, with new contacts on the back of the rider, fitted into the tonkatech cradle with cable run to it, i think it will be sorted....

but you never know, tomtom may well have sorted something out by then, and i might have a new design of cradle....no no no, wot am i thinking, of course they won't, there isnt any issues with their current one ;)

MCN are always harping on about championing the riders cause. Seems like a group rideout to Amsterdam with an MCN reporter/photographer in tow would be a start. ;)

Yes that would be good!............ Well Ive hammered away with Tomtom and get the "No known issues etc" we arent aware of any problems etc etc.... Im getting no further forward and they simply refuse to accept theres any issues whatever I do.

They did give me the head office address as they said that "Im sorry we cant resolve your issue and understand you are unhapy with our replies, please contact our head office".... To be fair the service was very good and polite from Tomtom.
