TomTom Rider v2 Additional Bike Dock

Hi - anyone got a good source for these ? After having the Rider v2 on the GS since July '07 its now stopped charging. I've had the power lead changed whilst Autocom were fitting their gear but no dice. It must be the cradle itself as it charges fine in my car charger. I can't believe TomTom want £44 for a new one !

Anyone that has one they dont require any more or know of a good (cheaper) source - would appreciate knowing !

Hi Chris... this is a problem with the TOM TOM rider 1 and 2, my TT 1 did exactly what your TT2 is doing, not charging on the bike but fine in the car. In the end I replaced it with a Garmin Zumo 550. My advice forget using the TT2 on the bike, keep it fir the car and lookout for a cheap Zumo.

Hmm - I dont think I'll find a Zumo for the £44 cost of a replacement bike cradle though !!

I think the TT is a great little device - just a shame that its stopped working. TomTom have sent me packaging materials and prepaid postage to deliver to their repair place in Scotland......but as its out of warranty they'll just charge me. However - you can opt to have your item returned so I might give that a go first.

I got the packaging and prepaid Special Delivery envelope from TomTom last Tuesday, sent it Wednesday, got it back Sat morning !
They'd replaced the bike cradle and 'repaired' the TomTom Rider2 ! Everything works fine now !
If only it would work correctly with the Autocom Bluetooth - cuts out after about 3mins use........but thats another story........and thread.

The Rider 2 is over 2yrs old as well - quite pleased with the service of TomTom to be honest !
