I've just made my first 800 miles trip Covid free, down to Avignon, Marseille and Gorges de l'Ardèche, with my last bike, 2002 GS 1150.

Nice BSA there

We know our bikes are on the lean side to go threw EURO 4 and now 5.

But isn't this too lean?

So what is the best choice now to make it less lean? John's chip, Leenie's Rocket sprockets, Booster plug, K fuel pressure regulator... All of those?

Are you a worrier by nature ? ...... It’s fine.

How did you noticed that?

Was asking because here is what a friend got with its 1100S

Yes it's looks lean, "But" they all look like that

A booster plug (LINKY) should improve things OR simply just unplug the lamda plug up on the frame rails under the tank! !

The ECU will fuel to the "base" or "Default" map with no fuel correction

Try that for a couple of days and see if there is a difference

Why not just ride it & keep it simple ?

It’s a 250kg adv bike, not a sports bike

Keep it standard and all will be ok

Didn't know about the unplug trick ;)

There is an EU alternative to the booster plug here http://www.sol2.be/Performance/ENG/Home/page.html

K.I.S.S.

And put my brain power, or what's left of it, elsewhere...

How old is your bike and how many miles has it done ? Has it just started running different to previously ?... or has it been running the same for years but you’ve only just decided to start worrying about it ? ..... you maybe better off asking on the American advrider forum, they love fretting over nothing and ending up with 8 pages of hilarious bollox... what you really need to worry about is your clutch splines :D

And arguing with each other about who has the biggest engineering dick...🤣 I have had several oilheads and some K's and they have always looked lean... Just the way they run has been my conclusion... I usually look at the colour when I change the plugs and go " yep same as..." Then carry on...

My present RT rattles in various places and will probably be the same in another 20k... I am not going to rebuild the bike to try to cure it... ADV rider would have 8 pages of remedies...

I’ve never looked at the plugs on my 1150RT, it’s still got the same plugs in it from when I bought it more than 8 years ago, and I haven’t looked at my 1150R loan bikes plugs for 26k miles :D

Bike is a 2002 and has only 35 miles on the clock, but I'm not sure of this because the cable connection on the wheel is broken :D

Just got the bike recently this year and don't know that much about it.

Clutch splines... Yes, next winter perhaps I'll have a look to lube them. Anybody tried with starter off and a tiny long brush?
