I know half a dozen with Avonline now and one planned for an install in the next few weeks and all find it very good compared to anything else that is available, If you tell them you've come to them from the Tooway web site when you phone them you can get bits free.

That's encouraging to hear, and thanks for the recommendation. Will be doing this once we're moved in May.

Looked at the openreach website that lists exchanges/cabinets and none within 20 miles are even due to upgraded at any point. The Barnstaple one is listed as 'at some point in the future'.

Do you net still need a phone or mobile phone connection.

I thought satelite BB was download only? The uploading goes via normal channels?

No that changed with the broadband only Ka-band satellites. It's satellite both directions now. The days of phone modem uplink are long gone thankfully.
