Hello. I pick up my 2015 RT this week but refuse to pay £1100.00 for a top box.
Can anyone suggest a different topbox about 50 litre please?
I've seen the SHAD SH50 but can't find anywhere to buy it or the fitting kit which I think I need for the bike. Also, is there a GIVI fitting kit or box around which will do the job for me ?
Any suggestions would be appreciated please

Thanks
Phil

The only Givi Monokey plate listed for the new RT seems to be the SRA3115.

Buy it here as much cheaper. With postage should be about £75.

The cheapest in UK such as Bykebitz sell it for £112 !!!

Then chose a Givi Monokey box from the site on same order. For example E52 Maxia.

Then get the back rest and inner bag.

I make the whole lot of Monokey rack, E52 box, back rest and inner bag plus p and p comes to 342 euros so about £252 !!

Just the box and rack would be £ 316 at Bykebitz who tend to be cheapest in UK !!

The whole lot should arrive in a week-I've used Accessorimoto a few times and always great service.

There are of course numerous other Givi boxes that will fit the same Monokey plate.Just chose the one you want then type in model number at accessorimoto site.

Hope this helps.

I bought a kappa K53 from Italy, £130 delivered inc universal base plate, easy as good as any Givi.

Agree with Givi E52 Maxia, I had one on my R1150RT, and kept it when i sold the bike. I bought an R1200RT with the Givi plate already fitted.

I don't take a pillion, so I would recommend the rack which fixes to the top box lid and allows you to carry longer items with ease.

£1100 ?????

That is ridiculous

Although i do believe that the top box from the old model will fit the new but could be wrong as this is anecdotal evidence from talking to a chap a year or so ago but if true what about a second hand box from e bay or the like

The Large and expensive RT Top Box is worth every penny :augie

It takes 2 x helmets
It has remote central locking
It has hydraulic struts
It has a internal light
And it has a lovely piece of carpet from a 6 series car.

Oh, and it costs an extra £150 to have it colour coded to the bike...:blast

Good point re rack.Fine for a sleeping bag or similar but as weight limit for rack is supposedly 6 kgs, I wouldn't put anything too heavy on it!!

I mean the monokey rack, btw,not the one on the box itself

The top box from my 2011 fts perfect on the new LC model and just as big as the new one but you don't get a carpet :blast. Look up Oly on here, he had a BMW top box for sale, he still may have it?

Bought a 2014 Rt LC in March this year with <600 miles, came with Top box, but I removed it and put my older RT top box on.
Will post it on the for sale forum shortly but as Yonkyo says, excellent kit, comes with plush carpet, wiring plug and standard grey colour scheme.
As new, unmarked and as the bike was delivered by van, the top box has never been used by me.
Looking for £625 posted if anyones interested. Pm me if you want photographs, but its the stock new top box.

You justify £1100 for a BMW topbox, you can't make it up:blast

so how much is the "official" BMW offering if you don't have all the gizmos like central locking included? does that drop the price significantly?

mine came with one already on board (no central locking), so I have no idea - but I wouldn't pay £1100 for it.

I bought my topbox over the internet from a BM dealer in Germany for just over £300. It is for the 2013 model, and despite the dealer saying it would not fit my model, (2014 LC), it did. I was reassured beforehand by folk on here confirming it would. The box came without a lock and I went into John Clark Dundee to order same. Got speaking to the parts guy about the deal and he said they would've matched the German price. He may have been blowing stoor up my arse:blagblah, but it maybe confirms that there are always deals to be made, even locally.

Are they seriously asking for over a grand for a top box? :eek

More to the point, how many people are actually PAYING that for one, so BMW think they have the price nailed? :blast

You don't hang around man!
What happened to the GS?
