Being a daily commuter i'm contemplating chopping in the back pack for the top box, but putting the top box on the pillion seat.

Has anyone tried this, how is handling affected?

I'm guessing the top box being on the pillion seat is better becuase the weight is directly over the rear wheel which will keep the handling as good as having no top box there, and not affect on the airflow over the bike becuase my wide arse will have already disturbed it!

ANy thoughts?

Thank you :)

Mmmmmm don't they call that a tail pack??

:jester

no dear, the 1200 motocases

:P

I did use a tailpack for a while, but this was smaller and more aerodynamic, so i was wondering if someone had actually used the motocases as per the brochure

Hi Russ

I run the Top box on the pillion slot. Only know its there if I lean back slightly. then backprotecter in the jacket touches the pad.

If resting against it, make firm contact otherwise you feel every kickback thru the rear shock. Have been over 200kph plus with no adverse handling inputs

I think its an ace piece of kit, run small it takes the laptop case and folder. arrive and expand it to take helmet ( System 4) cracked open with gloves and jacket folded inside the helmet.

Security not that big an issue here, most people leave their helmets on the mirrors!!!!!
I must admit the whole thing feels pretty robust and is very practical.
