Riding with the pillion seat removed

Worth a try.

Didn't want to risk getting the seat wet, scuffed, etc :)

Considered re-mounting top box for a millisecond, but don't want the mount / dismount hassle as mentioned above.

Enhances the "silver effect" somewhat.

Never had the pillion seat installed on either of my GSs and this has never caused a problem.

Is that back rest on the top box a small concession to any fit biker chicks that have broken down and need a lift?

Tried moving the top box forward on my GSA but found that it just dug into my back and so moved it back again :(

I can see one major problem with this... on that day you stop to help a sexy lady biker out because her bike has broken down and all she needs is a lift... you'll be scuppered cos you wont have a seat to carry her on!!!

Nah - chop her up into little bits and place in top box. Sorted.

Actually..................the real reasons I don't bother with the pillion seat are that first, it is easier to swing leg over bike (I am not 6ft tall) and second, I really can't stand riding with a pillion - takes all the fun out of it. - So, wife and kids drive car and or/fly.

bein short in the leg....I leave the pillion seat off, or i can't get me leg over when gettin off........(no rude comments) :augie:augie

I do this instead - like it lots :thumb2 - storage (laptop, A4 files, waterproofs etc) and style :)

.........I also like BMW's latest Chiminea rear seat heater.

Only £450.

seat off

have covered lots of ,iles with the back seat off no problems at all makes life easier when carrying camping gear

It better with it all off

I've removed the seat and rack and find it great for long distance stuff.

But the wife finds it hard to adapt when I get home!
