Sorry cor all my questions but am excited about getting my (new to me) GSA

I have the alu boxes but no top case

Thinking about one though.... For the bmw one (to match the cases) do i need any special adapters - does it just bolt on

Secondly, is it big enough to take a helmet? Am thinking of practicality when out and about in town

Any issues with it affecting handling?

Cheers

You will need the mounting plate onto which the top box locks.
Yes, it takes a full face helmet. It takes my Arai TourX with room to spare.

Never noticed any handling difference with it on. Might be different full of bricks - but empty......naah.

Also, be aware, you can order the lock barrels so that it uses the one, same key as the rest of the bike.

Have had 13 bottles of wine in my GSA top case. Didn't notice any difference to the handling. No breakages either.

Check the inside if you buy the BM one. Mine had a bolt with a pointed end protruding in which scratched the paint on my crash helmet when I stored it inside.

Angle grinder fixed it :thumb2
