Having just returned from Morocco :D with Bill and the boys, we had 3 GSA 1200's with us - 2 of them had side stand switch failures , due to being knocked by flying stones. This "gremlin", as you can guess is 100% debilitating , inasmuch as the engine stops when it is put into gear as it still thinks the stand is down.

Both times this happened, we were in the middle of nowhere and with no replacement switch. The solution is pretty simple however (Thank you Mr Pavey!) :

  • Separate the plug from the switch
  • There are 3 wires coming into the plug: RED, BLUE, WHITE
  • Pull through the RED & WHITE Connectors
  • Isolate the blue connector / wire
  • Join the RED / WHITE connectors together

This way, you haven't destroyed the plug interface with the switch, so you just have to get a new one from your friendly Bee Emm dealer and plug it in :thumb

Tour-a-twat Do make a cover, but it's only for the 1200GS NOT the GSA, would be really interested if someone came up with a cover - Anyone got a simple DIY solution? :thumb2
