Hello,

I'm after a topbox for the GS1150. All I know is that the BMW ones are expensive and not great... :)

Is there any difference between the Givi & Hein Gerickes own make stuff?

Is there a top box of choice or one to avoid?

thanks as usual...

jon

Cheers - is that the 46 litre box?

I've used Givi before and always rated it...

Yup, that's the one with optional back rest, brake light and rack.

Might have a top box GIVIA MAXI as in photo and 1150 dedicated bracket for sale. Box is as new and has one weks use. Rack is also as new. Make an offer as not sure how much these are new.

Would not want to post it though, it takes two full face hemlets.

hello - replied to you in your "for sale" thread

lemme know....

Depend's on what you need really. The Givi is a fine box and the larger size will hold 2 helmets.

However if you ever want to go for top-loading aluminium panniers the Givi will interfere with them and would mean taking the top box off EVERY time you want to open the side cases.

I went Touratech which will only hold one helmet but you have plenty of room to strap things to the top of it as well.

Very light, very strong, very well made. Comes off easily if you need to and makes a pretty good seat when camping!

I have a Lid Mac to keep the pillion crash helmet dry and lock that to the helmet lock on the side of the bike.

I have a Givi E50 Maxia and Touratech boxes. The box does interfere a little, but the lids can be taken off without much effort with no need to remove said box. This combination gives me a reasonable 130L of space, but the box does sit far back with al the load seemingly carried behind the rear axle. Don't ride to hard and you should be OK, I've done many miles without problems.

Top Box

I have a Givi V46 it fits 2 hemets (just) and seems to work fine. Mind you only had it a couple of weeks!
