I've got that one and it has covered all the stuff I've done so far...

That should do nicely, but anything of a reputable brand should do such as Norbar, Snap-On, Facom, Britool etc. Avoid buying any cheap unbranded or secondhand torque wrenches as they may not be accurate. If you overtighten and shear off with a cheap torque wrench, the repairs may cost more than using a decent branded one.

The halfords ones are made by Sykes Piqavant >sp< and are a higher spec than the equivalant Sykes model.

Thanks to all

Thanks to all that replied (quick or what!) Looks like I'm off to Halfords tomorrow then! before my forks part company with the yokes.

Cheers :) :)

If money were no object, this would be our favourite.
The compact 44cm tool has lots of plus points, including near-perfect accuracy.
Its adjustable handle and clear-plastic window - which made Nm and lb/ft setting selections equally easy - won praise.

Where?

I need to buy a torque wrench as well.

Halfords online have sold-out of that model. Anyone know of a good online retailer that sells the Draper one?

I found that, but I've decided to wait as the Halfords one is a Ride best buy :thumb

Not sure a real tosser could find everything he needs there but not bad nevertheless :D

I had a look there and despite it being one of the most difficult sites to use (i.e. search for "torque wrenches" and none come up, but search for "torque" and plenty are there) found this - http://www.drapertools-online.com:89/b2c/b2citmdsp.pgm?pp_skmno=34570

Think this is the right one?

I bought a Draper 3004A from the Discount Tools Shop in Keighley on the same day I saw the Garmin Quest at £199.97!

Very impressed with it at half the price of the Halford's item which I inspected on the same day. It does what it is supposed to do!

I bought my Draper torque wrench from Paintain .

Can't fault their service, but the torque wrench doesn't always work properly - I've sheared two caliper bolts on my VFR and almost a cam cover bolt, but luckily I realised it was necking in time :(

I now check it's "clicking" on non-critical bolts before tightening anything important - I really must invest in a Halford's one. I've also got the Halfords 60-100Nm torque wrench and it's a decent quality bit of kit :thumb
