Just a tip for those not in the know. But instead of a heat gun, for individual bolts, a soldering heat gun is like a scalpel in comparison - precise heat, quicker and you don't have to worry about surrounding paraphernalia... I very rarely ever use a typical heat gun.

Just a small update.. It was indeed Loctite!!

They had put it all the way up the bolt and on the head too..#

A £20 heat gun sorted it out though

If you own a BMW and do any type of DIY even just removing racks or anything basic. A heat gun should be your 2nd purchase (after the bike). It will save tears later.

I have a mate that absolutely hates BMWs! lol. He calls them “build motorcycles weird”
He’s owned a couple and talks about how they do things like have 2 drain plugs (for the same task) different sizes. Like 45 and 40 torx at the final drive. It’s almost like they want you to round bolts off for not taking to your local Motorrad dealer?! lol
Liberal use of Loctite is another example of their sense of humour.

I like how literally ever thing is torx

A part from the final drive filler plug which is an allen bolt...which couldn't be the same as the drain plug nooooo, has to not only be a different size but a completely different type

Motorrad don’t want you working on their bikes! Lol
Their business model is heavily dependent on service and after sales.
Just wait until you have to fuck with their large hose clamps. Definitely my favourite knuckle buster?!
