Tour de France

I was out cycling yesterday with my local club group, we discussed the super human riding of Pogacar, and whether the use of a substance was involved. I personally don't believe he would be stupid enough to use anything illegal. Evenepoel, who is in his first TDF, is only a little way behind both Pogacar and Vingegaard in terms of racing and not having thier experience. He would be beating any of the Merckx era of riders, with his setup / team / Machines and I really can see him being so stupid enough to take any kind of illegal substance to enhance performance

Yesterday's stage had 'Inevitable' written all over it - TP just blew them away.

The sports fan in me sort of zones out any thoughts of doping, I simply couldn't enjoy cycling if my brain allowed me to think that it wasn't pure, clean, sport. For me, we are witnessing an amazing athlete who is at the very top of his game. Nothing more.

Innocent until proven guilty.

Yes - but I think think he cycled up that hill 5 minutes quicker than the drug ridden riders of 10-15 years ago (according to the commentary).......

I'm afraid it was slightly more than making me wonder yesterday. It was so like Armstrong in his prime.

The same thought crossed mymind too sadly Davey.
And my wife's. She's not having it that Pogacar, or any of them, are clean and also cited Armstrong as an example of what Pogacar is achieving.
I've been watching Le Tour for decade's and was 100% fooled by Armstrong. Since then I've assumed that none of them are clean, accepted it and still enjoy the race despite that.

fantastic tour this year, well done France in what looked like top organisation. well earned rest for the riders now

All top athlete's have to take drugs to stand a chance of being competitive. It does not mean they are crap, it just raises the overall standard. Which we the public have grown to expect. Athletes are not well balanced individual's. The sport they pursue , totally consumes their lives. That's what it takes to reach the top. If you think its any different you are naive
